This Toob contains several varieties of the species, including the green and black, blue and black, yellow and black, gold and black, red and blue, golden, red, and Sira poison dart frogs.

  • History: Interestingly enough, poison dart frogs raised in captivity and isolated from their native habitats never develop poison. This has led scientists to conjecture that poison dart frogs assimilate poisons which are carried by their prey, including ants, termites and beetles. As strange as that might sound, there are other similar interactions that do occur in the wild. 
  • Characteristics: Given the potency of the frogs’ poison, including the golden poison dart frog, which has one of the most powerful toxins on the planet, it’s probably best you study these figurines instead of the real thing!
